My Services:

In case you haven’t guessed it from the webpage, I am an employment lawyer.  I have business litigation experience, too, but I focus on employment law.  I like to provide proactive advice to clients to avoid potential issues before they happen whenever I can.  Unfortunately, however, most of the time I find myself handling audits by government entities and litigation over violations of the law.

Within employment law, I do almost everything.  I prepare employee handbooks from scratch or review existing ones.  As I noted above, I defend against audits by the IRS, DOL (Department of Labor), and the TWC (Texas Workforce Commission).  Occasionally, I help out with an unemployment benefits claim, but I usually just work from behind the scenes because it isn’t worth paying me to participate.  That said, the bulk of my time is spent defending employment litigation.

On the personal side of my work – I enjoy my relationships with clients more than any other part of my job.  I have developed many personal friends from client relationships and I wouldn’t trade my time with clients for anything.  I have a curious nature which I enjoy fostering by learning all about my client’s businesses.  As a side benefit, I find this helps me be a better lawyer.
